Well, if you are coming to Wembley, can you leave the drunk, meathead, trouble-causing Leeds fans behind?

I had the misfortune to run into a large bunch of Leeds supporters in Camden Worlds End a few years ago…they started chanting about being ‘barmy Leeds’ for absolutely no reason - it came out of the blue cos i’d been in the pub over an hour before it kicked off. They then proceeded to create a crowd surge and break bottles to chase everyone out of the pub of a Saturday night…Once one started, the rest of them came over all neanderthal and joined in. Half the pub were Leeds fans, and half were students/goths/people who liked going to a place with decent music, metal toilets and a sticky floor. I made the mistake of going up the stairs to get out of the way, and as my foot hit the top step, another table full up there started joining in and smashing bottles and glasses…

It was a blood bath and I have never seen anything like it. Nor have I ever had to trample over so much glass to get out of a dangerous situation. What’s worse is no one had done anything at all to provoke it…they were just enjoying the violence and smashing the place up.

I once knew a Leeds fan who was imprisoned for organised football violence and another, from York who laughed when he told me a chip van at Leeds football ground had been upturned by Leeds fans and the bloke inside was burned by scalding hot oil. I was actually repulsed!

Leeds United haven’t left a good impression on me, so sorry Rust, but I hope Leeds never get to Wembley for the violent, hopefully minority fans who enjoy causing trouble wherever they are!
