The food fascists are at it again

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

The police were called to The Blue Bicycle yesterday to move on some members of the great unwashed (otherwise known as YAFA) who were, once again, disrupting a perfectly legal business from conducting its trade.

Who do these people think they are? They have already protested once, and quite rightly were ignored, so what are they trying to do by carrying on with their pointless campaign?

YAFA and their little councillor friend got all upset when I described them as terrorists* in The Press and began a campaign of intimidation and harassment against me very similar to the one they are waging against The Blue Bicycle today. Luckily, for democracy and freedom of choice, neither of us have caved in to the bully boy tactics of this so called peaceful organisation.

They refused my offer to give their side of the story in my blog. They banned me, and others, from their website for no reason that I can see other than they didn’t fancy having their agenda challenged and they complained vociferously to The Press about the criticisms I constantly made of them, but the one that sticks in my throat is that they failed to answer my perfectly legitimate question as to why they don’t protest about the barbaric way that animals are slaughtered for halal and kosher meat in Britain. For christ’s sake, foie-gras isn’t even produced in this country so what’s the point in carrying on about it all the time? Hardly anyone eats it anyway, yet YAFA and Cllr. Blanchard have managed to spectacularly raise the profile of this delicacy to the point where more and more people are wanting to try it. Talk about idiots!

If these filthy terrorists* continue to harass The Blue Bicycle then I suggest they fight fire with fire. A couple of buckets of offal and animal blood thrown over them should suffice for starters.

*ter·ror·ism (těr’ə-rĭz’əm)
n. The unlawful use or perceived threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.

Thanks for the support; but there’s more to come!

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

I would briefly just like to thank those of you; both supporters and foes; for the messages and emails of support after my ban from The Press website. I hope it survives without me lol!

At the end of the day I haven’t been silenced, I’ve just been moved along.

I received an email from someone earlier today saying it is more than a blessing in disguise that I have been exiled. Now I can do what I like and not have to worry about censorship or breaking silly rules. I even think I could make myself a few quid which is better than making it for Newsquest!

Realistically, it was always going to be impossible for me to work within parameters that I don’t agree with. I had considered leaving a couple of months ago when the animal rights situation was at it’s fiercest and I received no support whatsoever from The Press at all (other than, as always, Jon Butler) and the senior editorial team caved in at the feet of the YAFA brigade and Paul (David Icke) Blanchard; a man who thinks he is a lot cleverer than he really is as even some of his cronies have fed me useful information about this “businessman”. Not that I intend to use any of this info. Unless, of course, I get annoyed…

I can’t help the way I am. I have opinions and am quite capable of expressing them. If that isn’t your cup of tea then fine, we are all made up of different stuff. However I was a little surprised, and even touched, by a few emails I received today from some of my worst enemies on this site who said they will miss my blog and the debate it undeniably stimulated.

Well don’t worry! Rust_Never_Sleeps is still alive and blogging and it will be even more entertaining if you lot all come and join in the debate in the uncensored world I now live in.

With the new website shortly to be launched it is an exciting time to be me!
Daft as it sounds I feel incredibly relaxed now my Press days are over. I still think I should’ve been paid though as I know my blog got more hits than all the rubbish columnists talking about underpants and periods.

Oh well, live and learn and move on; and I have!

See you very soon…

The truth about my ban from The Press

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

As I’m sure you have noticed, I have been banned from The Press website and my blog removed.

Now I am sure that will please some people but it at least has a silver lining. I can now say what I like without worrying about being censored by anti-free speech suppressors like Bill Hearld, the man who instructed The Press website admin team to remove me from the site.

Contrary to rumours abounding today, my blog was not removed because of my latest post about Scientology/Islam, but because I made a seemingly offensive comment about stinking animal rights activists in the “Mass Evacuation in City Centre” story a couple of days ago. Having said that, I am fully aware that I have been the target of many sad individuals who constantly complained to The Press about everything I wrote. One highly amusing incident involved Hearld claiming, in an email to myself, that the mother of a 13-year-old girl had phoned him personally because her oh-so-innocent daughter had been upset at seeing the word “erection” used in one of my blog posts. That is, of course, about as likely to be true as it is unlikely that a 13-year-old girl these days not being fully au fait with erections and what to do with them!

So in some respects the “anti-Rust” campaign has been a success. Time will tell if it is successful in the long term.

To those of you who feel you can suppress my right to free speech I say this… 1) I am the boss of my own web space now so there’s nobody to complain to if you are offended, and 2) I know the law inside out regarding libel/slander etc. on the internet so don’t think I’m worried one bit about any of you.

It is quite clear from past experience that The Press senior management are either in the pockets, or terrified, of animal rights cranks and their associated councillors as any derogatory reference to them is frowned upon and immediately removed from the site.

I am sure Cllr. Paul Blanchard will be very happy to see my opinions removed from the site. However he, and other public servants who are not doing their job properly, can only sleep soundly for a short time as I have something in the pipeline that will cause more controversy and allow open and free debate on all manner of subjects.

I am talking about, of course, a new website. I will not be releasing details of it just yet but when it is ready to launch this will be the place to find out about it. When the new site goes live there will be no suppression of views, no matter who expresses them. The only censorship will be if any laws are broken. It will be everything The Press site isn’t.

Finally, I would just like to thank Jon Butler at The Press for his constant and unerring support, despite working for fascists at Newsquest.

See you soon, both friends and enemies…

Scientology not the real evil

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

On Sunday morning I was cycling down Hull Road and while waiting at the traffic lights near Tang Hall WMC I was surprised to see a mob of student types waving placards protesting about the Church of Scientology setting up a mission in Matmer House.

As far as my limited knowledge of scientology stretches, they seem to be a splinter religion that don’t do any harm and have Tom Cruise and John Travolta among their ranks so it must be pretty cool yeah? I certainly haven’t heard of scientologists committing any major acts of violence or terrorism in the name of their religion, so why this group of rent-a-mob protestors are so wound up about them setting up shop in York is a mystery to me.

What I did notice while waiting for the lights to turn green was a lone police officer chatting to the ringleader of the group at the side of the road in a very amicable manner. Nothing wrong with that you may think? And yes I agree; but I wonder what the police reaction would have been if the protest was against an arguably far more sinister religion who have a base about 200 yards down the road off Bull Lane?

As far as I’m aware York’s muslim contingent haven’t done anything evil but there is no doubt that other followers of this faith have performed horrific acts of inhumanity in the name of Allah (9/11; 7/7; Ken Bigley etc…) so why no protest at their York HQ then? Well, I will tell you why… because Islam is untouchable and safe from criticism due to my old mate political correctness. Anyone who questions the teachings of the Qu’ran, and the behaviour of it’s devotees, is immediately labelled a racist yet it is seemingly acceptable to harass followers of other religions who do nobody any harm? Where is the logic in this?

If anyone can prove beyond doubt that Scientologists are a threat to Britain’s security then let the protesters continue. It has already been demonstrated that certain followers of Islam are very dangerous to society so I expect to see this same group of tax-dodgers outside the York mosque next weekend.

Not a chance in hell is there?

Scientology and Islam put together are far less threatening to York residents than animal rights cranks and CoYC are but as usual the professional demonstrators choose easy targets that don’t fight back.

Cowards one and all.

I thought being gay was normal these days?

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

On the BBC website today there is a story saying that the number of complaints of homophobia received by the Gay Police Association has risen by almost a quarter to 350 in 2007 from 260 in 2006. “Gay Police Association”??? What’s all that about? Is being gay something new these days?

I despise these silly minority clubs that plague the police. As well as the gay club we have the National Black Police Association (NBPA), another pointless collective. Are black people another new fangled invention too?

If gay police officers are easily offended by taunts about their sexuality then I must question whether they are fit to be in the force at all. I have been at football matches and witnessed incidents where the police have been called far worse than a whoopsy! Perhaps there should be a “Questionable Parentage Police Association”, judging by some of the abuse I have heard being hurled in their direction.

These ridiculous groups do nothing to raise public confidence in the police at all. I could talk to a black police officer and not consider the colour of his skin. However if he were to tell me he was a member of the NBPA I would immediately be suspicious of him and worry that he was prejudiced against whites as there can be no other reason to join a “black only” club.

And as far as the GPA goes, the only benefit of being a badge wearing member would be to terrify suspected drug dealers by threatening to let one of them do an internal body search!

Instead of wasting time on these ridiculous factions I, and I’m sure the majority of citizens, would like PC to stand for Police Constable and not Political Correctness.
